About Sunny Sea Gold
Sunny Sea Gold is a media-savvy advocate and commentator specializing in binge eating disorder, cultural obsessions around food and weight, and raising children who have a healthy body image. After recovering from binge eating disorder, Sunny wrote the first book specifically for young women and girls who binge eat, Food: The Good Girl’s Drug (Berkley Books, 2011), and founded the support site HealthyGirl.org.
A mother of two young girls—and a former on-staff editor at both Glamour and Seventeen magazines—she also speaks and writes about how to raise healthy children in an image-obsessed world. She’s been interviewed as an expert on these topics by numerous radio and television stations, and print publications such as The Washington Post, the Chicago Tribune, Real Simple magazine, and Seventeen. Also a sought-after journalist, Sunny reports on and writes about health, psychology, and parenting for publications like O, The Oprah Magazine, Parents, Readers Digest, Glamour, Seventeen, Scientific American Mind, Health, WebMD, and more.
