Eating Disorder Treatment Centers: In-patient and out-patient programs

Many eating disorder treatment centers offer inpatient and outpatient care not just for anorexia and bulimia, but for binge eating and emotional eating, too. This is a short list of excellent centers where some of my favorite therapists and experts work—but there are many more facilities all around the country. Check nationaleatingdisorders.org for a more complete listing or talk to your doctor or therapist for a referral.

The Ridgeview Women’s Center in Smyrna, GA is incredible. Dr. Nina Schlacter is one of the leading doctors in EDS and is a godsend. I’ve been in recovery for almost 2 years now!

Rosewood offers both inpatient and outpatient services. After a year of searching for any sort of counselor that understood the mental food and body anxiety I was going through, with almost no luck (I saw 4 therapists), I found Rosewood. After an initial evaluation we decided together that I could go ahead with an intensive outpatient therapy. Every person’s recovery plan is unique and personalized. There is an entire team of people helping you and supporting you in recovery. I now go to group therapy(the best thing I have ever done) 3 times a week, have individual therapy with an eating disorder specialist once a week, and see a dietician once a week. I have been going there for a month and have been binge free for 3 weeks. This is the longest that has happened in months and months.

I recommend at least calling and inquiring if you live in arizona and need help.
